The four-star general in charge of U.S. military assets in the Africa region finally testified before Congress during the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations in a closed door session Wednesday about what happened that night when four Americans including the U.S. Ambassador were murdered.
Ham was commander of AFRICOM and shed light about military assets available in the area that might have been used to assist Americans in the nearly 8- hour attack. Just after the Benghazi scandal become widely known, Gen. Carter Ham suddenly retired, fueling speculation that he was forced to do so by Obama or Hillary Clinton because of either his dissenting opinion the night of the attack or fear from the White House that the General would tell the truth about the administration’s incompetence and subsequent cover-up of the botched preparation and response to the attack.
Thus far, according to PJ Tatler's Bridget Johnson it has been learned that no one from U.S. Africa Command was brought in on the White House preparations to plan against a 9/11 anniversary attack. Counterterrorism advisor John Brennan (who has since been promoted to Director of the CIA) claimed that he led briefings September 10, 2012 before the attack that he described as “numerous meetings to review security measures in place” and included “steps taken to protect U.S. persons and facilities abroad, as well as force protection.” Ham “stated that neither he or anyone working for him was consulted as part of the Brennan 9/11 planning process.”
