Texas Senator Ted Cruz is in the crosshairs of the rabid liberal media. Chris Matthews and dribbling idiot, Claire McCaskill trashed Ted Cruz on Matthew’s cable news show for questioning the sketchy record of Secretary of Defense Nominee, Chuck Hagel. Matthews said Cruz demonstrated “really strong echoes” of Joe McCarthy.
The irony here is that most of the media attacks against Cruz result from the Hagel nomination hearing. Hagel did not perform well at the hearing and Hagel confirmed his own incompetence, proudly acknowledged his bizarre, seemingly unrelated string of beliefs and cemented his image as an anti-Semitic court jester. No one left or right (with the exception of genius boy/king President Obama) believes Hagel is intelligent or competent in any way, shape or form.
The attacks against Cruz are angry and organized. Ruth Marcus of The Washington Post reported: “Ted Cruz is not going to win Senator Congeniality.” Marcus went on with her anti-Cruz rant, stating that, “…he doesn’t have the right to smear Hagel, with no supporting evidence, with insinuations that the nominee received money from foreign governments or extremist groups.”
Meanwhile
POLITICO jumped on the anti-Cruz bandwagon claiming that unnamed Republican
sources are unhappy with Cruz’s impudence, particularly as a recently sworn-in
Senator: “Another GOP senator reported that fellow Republicans were already
getting “annoyed” by Cruz’s antics.”
Frank Bruni at The New York Times penned a piece called “The G.O.P.’s Nasty Newcomer”
where his written attack on Cruz is astonishing: “He’s an ornery, swaggering piece of work.” Bruni even
cited RINO John McCain who publicly shushed Cruz. Bruni criticized Cruz for not
knowing his proper place and having the nerve to appear on Meet the Press as a lowly freshman Senator. Bruni’s personal attack
ends with prophecy that Cruz will bring Republicans “nothing but grief.”
This all comes on the heels of Mother Jones identifying Cruz as the “thinking man’s tea partier.” The left cannot marginalize Cruz and categorize him as an idiot; after all he excelled in every facet of Ivy League academic life that liberals worship: An undergraduate degree from Princeton; winner of multiple national debate championships; a magna cum laude J.D. from law school at Harvard where he was also founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review. Cruz worked on George W. Bush’s campaign and was Texas Solicitor General.
The left cannot label Cruz as “stupid” or “out of touch” as accomplished as he is at only 42- years -old. Cruz also violates the left’s identity politics game - he is the son of a Cuban immigrant father and cannot easily be branded as “racist.” The liberal media have only one remaining label - painting Cruz as “extreme”.
U.S. News and World Report interviewed the notoriously dim-witted chairman of the Texas Democratic Party, Gilberto Hinojosa, on Cruz: “He’s clearly very ambitious. I don't know if he's got other aspirations in mind. I doubt very seriously that Americans would ever elect an extreme, right-wing conservative like Ted Cruz to anything but one term in the Senate by accident."
Ted Cruz has arguably had THE most significant first 6 weeks in office of any other Senator in history. Proud to call Ted "Senator"

Also for the record, Senator Cruz is a Second Baptist Eagle.
