The day Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated; Jesse Jackson was not up on the balcony as is commonly thought. There is a photo of Jesse Jackson up on the balcony with Martin Luther King that has been circulated over the years - that picture was taken the day before King was murdered - as publicity shot.
When the shots rang out and killed Dr. King, Jackson actually ran away, hid, and appeared only after the television cameras arrived. Later it was discovered that Jackson had hired a public relations agent. Within 24 hours of the senseless, despicable murder of Dr. King, Jackson appeared on NBC’s "Today Show." Jackson wore a shirt from the day before that he claimed was stained with Dr. Martin Luther King's blood. He told the audience that Dr. King had “… died in my arms" –a bald-faced lie.
Since that time, Jackson has been capitalizing on “black racism”. Jackson found himself unable to fund his organization (PUSH) through massive government grants (Jackson was under investigation by the DOE) and these grants were later terminated after the Carter administration. In order to get desperately-needed money, Jackson employed boycotting methods to force corporations to “right” some imagined “wrongs” against people of color. If the company refused to pay, Jackson would use the boycotts, television appearances provided by sympathetic media outlets, the bully pulpit and the label of “racism” to get money. It worked with Coca Cola, KFC, and Southland Corp. among others.
Jackson’s “influence” was finally diluted after a sex scandal. Jackson used Rainbow Coalition funds to pay for the expenses of his mistress, aka “Baby Mama,” with tax-exempt/ non -profit corporate funds. Later, a sexual harassment charge leveled by a male victim against Jackson was filed. Jackson’s congressman son, Jesse Jr., is tucked safely into federal prison (convicted of fraud) with his recently diagnosed mood disorder and nearly $9,000 a month pension. These scandals, combined with some sort of oral issue that has rendered Jackson incapable of clear speech and impossible to understand, has made Jackson largely irrelevant today.
Fast forward to the 2000s. The United States experienced a surge in national pride at the election of Barak Obama, the nation’s first black President. Regardless of his lack of qualifications, obscured background, and questionable political allies – Obama soared into office with promises of hope and change.
Like Jesse Jackson, Obama’s past has been shrouded, cleansed, overhauled and manipulated for public relations purposes. Gone are the Marxist views and anarchist friends, the Black Liberation theologists and shady real estate deals all replaced by a shiny happy new Obama – a family man with centrist views.
Unlike Jackson, Obama has been propped up solely by the hard work of others– at least Jackson had the entrepreneurial spirit to dust himself off and take advantage of a crisis. Obama is the realized culmination of years of Jackson’s efforts – an empty-suited concoction propelled by affirmative action and shaped by Marxist parents.
Obama’s shakedown is about power – not money - as it is in Jackson’s case. Obama is shaking down the country for votes, for policy and for radical change. He knows the money will come later. He is guaranteed life of the elite regardless of what happens with the nation.
One of Obama’s first foray into ‘blacksploitation” was to weigh in on the alleged motivations of the police who arrested a black man (Harvard’s Henry Louis Gates) who went nuts when the police questioned him about breaking into (what turned out to be) Gates’ own home. Never mind that any homeowner should be thrilled that police maintained a presence in their community and were trying to do the right thing by preventing a potential property crime.
Obama said the police “acted stupidly”. Obama, taking a cue from the Jesse Jackson marketing playbook, decided to make a PR moment out of it (using the White House) and staged a beer summit between the arresting officer and Prof. Gates.
More recently, the Obama administration’s Justice Department dismissed voter intimidation charges against the New Black Panther Party after they appeared physically barring the doors of a voting location armed with clubs and dressed for battle. Of course, this action empowered the panthers and has paved the way for the rise of the New Black Panther Party to be used by those in the Obama administration.
Today, we have the Trayvon Martin killing. The killing was accidental, possibly stupid but NOT fueled by race, yet still death is hideous and unfortunate. The death of Trayvon was a criminal investigation and a matter for the justice system. Period. Not any more or less important than the countless other people killed by the hand of another every month. Neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman was acquitted of second degree murder charges and Trayvon is no longer with us. But, like Jesse Jackson, Obama never lets a racially- tinged situation go unnoticed.
Obama curiously said before the trial, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon.” He went on to say that the nation needed to do some “soul-searching”.
Meanwhile, the New Black Panther brown shirts issued a fatwa’ against George Zimmerman, offering $10,000 to capture or kill him. This prompted additional thugs like Spike Lee to tweet George Zimmerman’s address (I guess because the panthers don’t have time to look in the phone book between hooking up with their homies and meeting with their parole officers) to help murder Zimmerman. Oops, it was later discovered Lee tweeted the wrong address and the folks that lived there had to flee in fear for their lives. I suppose this passes for “soul-searching”.
Like any good con man, Jackson is fraught with worry about Obama taking over his lucrative turf. In a moment of rare honesty, Jackson was caught on video accusing Obama of talking down to black people and indicating that he “wanted to cut his nuts off.” Not unlike the feud between Michael Caine and Steve Martin in the film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Jackson may get the better of Obama yet.
Many have pointed out that Obama is fanning the flames of race, hoping to further break down society with race riots. Some believe Obama has not done enough where issues of race are concerned.
The bottom line is, other than the validity of the office of the Presidency, there is very little difference between Barak Obama and Jesse Jackson.
What's the difference between Jesse 'Messy' Jackson and a train full of Gypsy thieves?
Trick question, they're one and the same.
