Sources in room say it's open mic now, and because Boehner is moving a more conservative bill and not waiting for Sen, there's no revolt
From Businessinsider.com:
Senators Reid and McConnell have been hammering out a deal for days that would reopen the government through the beginning of 2014 and raise the debt ceiling through next February.
Reportedly the deal also includes some cosmetic changes to the Obamacare – delaying of the tax on medical devices for 2 years; implementation of some sort of income-verification process for people applying for subsidies; and a provision barring lawmakers (not congressional and White House staff) from receiving subsidies for federal health insurance under Obamacare.
On the QT, anywhere from 15 to 20 House conservatives met in secret with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) last night at Tortilla Coast, where they plotted how to respond to the Senate deal. Not sure if this open rebellion involved margaritas and nachos, but one can only hope.
Supposedly, House leadership (Boehner, Cantor & McCarthy) are not wiling give in to the Senate plan….yet.
