We couldn’t agree more. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) closed down his own Senate offices deeming his own staff as "non-essential" government personnel. His voice mail explains that phone calls and emails. will go unreturned.

Other Senate offices are to remain open.

Reid posted a sign on the door of his main Capitol Hill office:

“Due to the Government Shutdown Senator Reid's Offices Are Closed. In the event of an emergency, please contact the Capitol Police on the 1^st Floor. "
