Despite pressure from our ally Israel to kill the current nuclear deal on the table with Iran (Israel is calling for even imposing stronger sanctions), Congress seems to back the deal claiming that new sanctions could lead to military action that could inflame the entire region.
Congress’s reluctance to listen to Israel's admonishments shows the tin ear they have applied to the Obama/Kerry schizophrenic foreign policy. Iran's economy has suffered under the sanctions which have taken years to take effect. Money is no longer flowing to the bellicose nation and its banking, oil and chemical industries are stalled.The deal does has no teeth to enforce Iran curbing its enrichment program except to lift sanctions and wait another several years for them to take effect. There is also no real guarantee that Iran will not continue weapons development during the negotiations.
The fact that Carter's National Security Adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, is all for ignoring Israel and the danger it faces with a nuclear armed Iran should tell even the most casual observer that this deal is a very bad idea:

After all, Iran has been sponsoring terrorism against the West for years. So why is the United States hell bent on making sure that Iranian terrorist leaders have nukes? Ask Obama.
