Fatal Car Crashes Involving Pot have Tripled

The American Journal of Epidemiology published a study that tracks the amount of fatal car chrashes and their causes. Fatal car crashes with drivers under the influence of pot have tripled in the United States between 1999 and 2010.

Of course contradicts the argument for those who believe pot should be legalized because it is “less harmful” than alcohol.

“Currently, one of nine drivers involved in fatal crashes would test positive for marijuana,” said Dr. Guohua Li, director of the Center for Injury Epidemiology and Prevention at Columbia, co-author of the study. “If a driver is under the influence of alcohol, their risk of a fatal crash is 13 times higher than the risk of the driver who is not under the influence of alcohol,” Li said. “But if the driver is under the influence of both alcohol and marijuana, their risk increased to 24 times that of a sober person.”

The researchers found that drugs played an increasing role in fatal traffic accidents. Drugged driving accounted for more than 28 percent of traffic deaths in 2010, which is 16 percent more than it was in 1999.The researchers also found that marijuana was the main drug involved in the increase. It contributed to 12 percent of fatal crashes, compared to only 4 percent in 1999.

“I would line up with most people in Texas who would prefer that that’s not something that happens outside of those two arenas. My concern, even in the way the 20-week ban was written in this particular bill, was that it didn’t give enough deference between a woman and her doctor making this difficult decision, and instead tried to legislatively define what it was.”

I don’t know where the state is on that, as a population. Certainly as governor I think it’s important to be deferential to whether the state of Texas feels that it’s ready for that.”

I'm Lovin It! What Do Phillip Seymour Hoffman and McDonald's Have in Common?

Shantia Dennis, a McDonald's employee in Pittsburgh was arrested Wednesday.

Undercover police said Ms. Dennis was selling heroin in Happy Meal boxes, according to a criminal complaint.

Customers looking for heroin were instructed to go through the drive-through and say, "I'd like to order a toy." The customer would then be told to proceed to the first window, where they would be handed a Happy Meal box containing heroin, Manko said.

Officers found 10 “stamp bags” of heroin inside of a Happy Meal box. That explains the mysterious secret sauce found in Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s apartment.

Latest CBO Report Proves Obama's Liberal Fiscal Policy Doesn't Work

The CBO is apparently channeling Fox News, and being subsidized by Ted Cruz and the Koch brothers. In their latest report, the Congressional Budget Office reported that Obamacare will kill the jobs of at least 2 million workers and drive them out of the labor market by 2017. Why? Because Obamacare punishes businesses who hire full-time employees.

Of course, combine that with the stagnation of the U.S. economy in general, the outlook is grim. The CBO also added an extra $1 trillion to the cumulative deficit over the next decade.

To make matters worse, the CBO projected that public debt will rise to 80% of the GDP by 2024.

D'Souza /Ayers Debate! (VIDEO)

Dinesh D'Souza was born in Mumbai, India, and came to the U.S. as an exchange student, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College in 1983. His academic success led to a position as a former policy analyst in the Reagan White House. Since then, D’Souza has had a 25-year career as a writer, scholar, and public intellectual. D’Souza also served as John M. Olin Fellow at theAmerican Enterprise Institute, and the Robert and Karen Rishwain Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He served as the president of The King’s College in New York City from 2010 to 2012. D'Souza is perhaps best known for his popular film, called “2016: Obama’s America,” which has risen to the second-highest all-time political documentary, passing Michael Moore’s Sicko and Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. In addition, 2016 has risen to #6 on the bestselling list of all documentaries.

D’Souza has been named one of America’s most influential conservative thinkers by the New York Times Magazine. The World Affairs Council lists him as one of the nation’s 500 leading authorities on international issues, and Newsweek cited him as one of the country’s most prominent Asian-Americans.

Bill Ayers devoted his time to his "activism. " He was among the demonstrators at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Developing a more militant version of the SDS, Ayers helped found the Weathermen a group that in 1969, the Weathermen took to the streets in what was called the “Days of Rage” protests. The event started off with the bombing of a statue in Chicago’s Haymarket Square and then erupted into a clash between the group members and the police. During the conflict, 287 Weathermen were arrested.

Later that year, the group took responsibility for bombing several police cars in Chicago in retaliation for the killing of Mark Clark and Fred Hampton of the Black Panther Party by the police. By early 1970, many members of the group were in hiding, including Ayers. The organization was rocked by tragedy in March of that year when three members—Theodore Gold, Terry Robbins, and Ayers’ girlfriend Diana Oughton—were killed while making bombs in New York City.

Even after these deaths, the group remained active. Ayers participated in the 1971 bombing of the Capitol building and the 1972 bombing of the Pentagon. He remained underground for a decade. While on the run, Ayers became involved with fellow Weather Underground member Bernardine Dorhn.

Breaking News - Student Athletes Get a Free Pass

Shocking shocker. The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (UNC) has admitted that 200 African and Afro-American Studies were essentially fake classes. Since the 1990s, classes focusing on black studies had class rolls inflated with athletes. It was discovered that there were 500 unauthorized grade changes. Supporting the evidence that the classes were a sham, a UNC athletic tutor, Mary Willingham, discovered that UNC athletes had deficient reading abilities. Willingham has since been suspended for using data that would need to have been approved for use by a review board.

The classes were largely untaught and unsupervised. This was underscored by the felony charge against UNC former Department Chair Julius Nyang’oro, after receiving at least $12,000 for teaching a class he did not ever show up for during the summer semester of 2011.

The university continues to peddle the meme that classes were not created for athletes to get passed through the system .

“Although we don’t have evidence that the anomalous courses were initiated in order to benefit athletes, close to half who did enroll were student-athletes,” Chancellor Carol Folt said in an interview with the News & Observer.

Sandra Fluke Please Just Go Away

Sandra Fluke (everyone’s favorite “slut”) is apparently considering ….wait for it…running for Rep. Henry Waxman’s (D -CA) seat now that Waxman has announced his intention to retire from a position he has held for 40 years. The district encompasses wealthy celebrity-littered areas like Bel Air, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Malibu.

Fluke’s claim to fame was a result of a fake protest she launched to get her contraception paid for by the U.S. government. She masqueraded as a college student (despite the fact that she is over 30), a birth control activist (whatever that is), a woman who has been victimized (?), a poor person who can’t afford $9 per month for birth control pills (she is from an elite family and attended Georgetown post graduate), and an online educator (she organized an online webinar that no one attended). Rush Limbaugh made her a household name after a running satirical commentary about how absurd Fluke’s propositions were.

"She essentially says that she must be paid to have sex—what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex." – Rush Limbaugh

Fluke has publically embarrassed herself many times since the Rush Limbaugh controversy. Fluke spoke at the DNC arguing against ultrasounds (a painless medical imaging procedure used for a medical professional to visually check the health and development of a fetus in utero), protested to allow transgenders to join the military, campaigned to force universities to make gender reassignment surgery a “requirement” for college healthcare plans and called for the government to “do something” about rape on Indian reservations.

This is almost as good as Ashley Judd running for Senate.
