My concern, even in the way the 20-week ban was written in this particular bill, was that it didn’t give enough deference between a woman and her doctor making this difficult decision, and instead tried to legislatively define what it was.”

“I do believe that Governor Perry’s approach is a reasonable approach,  that we as a state need to think about the cost of that incarceration and, obviously, the cost to the taxpayers as a consequence of it, and whether we’re really solving any problem for the state by virtue of incarcerations for small amounts of marijuana possession. I don’t know where the state is on that, as a population. Certainly as governor I think it’s important to be deferential to whether the state of Texas feels that it’s ready for that.”

Magpul Industries announced it has closed up shop in Colorado and will be moving to Wyoming and Texas after Colorado continued to attack the gun industry and second amendment rights of its citizens.

This proves that elections have consequences. While Colorado basks in the glory of its future “pot tourism” it will soon miss the contributions and validity of long-term business partners like Magpul.  Magpul plans to relocate 92% of its workforce within the next 12-16 months. This will cost Colorado 200 jobs and $80 million in revenue generated by the well-regarded corporation. 

“Moving operations to states that support our culture of individual liberties and personal responsibility is important,” CEO Richard Fitzpatrick said in a statement. “This relocation will also improve business operations and logistics as we utilize the strengths of Texas and Wyoming in our expansion.”

Federal Judge Andrew S. Hanen of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Texas has discovered that the Obama administration's cooperation with Mexican drug cartels goes far beyond Operation Fast & Furious where DHS “walked weapons” across the border in order to clandestinely prove that gun control was needed in the U.S. Operation Fast & Furious resulted in the deaths of more than 300 Mexican citizens and 2 law enforcement agents in the United States, and the Obama administration has yet to be held accountable. 

Obama’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also helped drug cartels traffic children instead of stopping the transactions. Judge Hanen has uncovered four of these cases so far. With the U.S. government providing incentives, south of the border parents are even more likely to sell their children to cartel members for illegal transport across the border.

"In one situation, the government flew a child to multiple locations in different parts of the United States. The taxpayers of the United States suffer the expense of delivering these minors," Hanen wrote, noting that the Obama administration is "rewarding criminal conduct instead of enforcing the current laws."

The case before Judge Hanen — United States of America v. Mirtha Veronica Nava-Martinez —in which trafficker Mirtha Veronica Nava-Martinez influenced Patricia Elizabeth Salmeron Santos (an illegal immigrant living in Virginia) to allow Martinez to smuggle Santos' daughter from El Salvador to her home in Virginia. Martinez was to be paid $8,500. The DHS did not charge the mother and allowed the daughter to enter in to the U.S. illegally, actually transporting the daughter to Virginia at U.S. taxpayers' expense.

"The DHS, instead of enforcing our border security laws, actually assisted the criminal conspiracy in achieving its illegal goals," Hanen wrote.

In another case, a 3-year-old El Salvadoran toddler was abandoned by smuggler after being raped and tortured while held for additional money.

Sadly, while the government refuses to enforce immigration laws and is complicit in delivering arms to cartels and completing their human smuggling transactions, children will suffer because of the unintended consequences of desperate parents trusting drug cartels with precious cargo – their own children. We all lose.

Surprise! 73 Federal Agencies Have Armed Officers That Can Arrest You

What did we learn from the 16-day government shutdown?  The most salient point is that perhaps as much as 80% of the government is “non essential.” We have WHOLE agencies that are awash with waste, fraud and abuse that lack accountability and oversight. They have outlived their usefulness and most likely violated the 10th amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

But what of agencies that are part of law enforcement?  We know the Department of Homeland Security is too large and unwieldy and should be disbanded. We have the FBI, Border Patrol, DEA, ATF, Federal Marshall Service, DOJ, Bureau of Prisons, Customs Dept., Treasury Dept., ICE and Coast Guard that are all involved in law enforcement. Spooks like CIA & NSA have field ops.

The question is how many agencies and how many  arms-wielding government officials do we really need? And who holds them accountable?  We’ve seen in the power craving Obama administration the NSA and IRS have gone totally off the reservation by creating policy, targeting citizens and completely ignoring individual rights guaranteed on the U.S. Constitution. Their unfettered access to data and ability to select and punitively attack Americans with no presumption of innocence is jarring to say the least.

Folks balked at last year’s Department of Homeland Security bid for up to 1.2 billion rounds of ammunition – not realizing that this future purchase actually represented a slight decline in ammo purchases by the U.S. government.

The egregious incident that recently fueled outrage of government overreach and heavy -handed tactics happened a month ago in Alaska. Armed state/federal descended on and attacked  Chicken, Alaska supposedly looking for Clean Water Act violations. No, this is not a parody.  The participants in the raid were actually dressed in full body armor.  What agency led the charge? The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

As Fox news reported, more than FORTY federal agencies have armed divisions. 24 federal agencies employ more than 250 full-time armed officers with arrest authority; another 16 agencies have less than 250 officers. Add an additional 33 offices including inspector general, the Postal Service and Government Printing Office have armed personnel.  These agencies employ about 120,000 full-time officers authorized to carry guns and make arrests, according to a June ,2012 DOJ report.

So is it necessary for the EPA, the Library of Congress, NOAA, the Federal Reserve Board, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the National Institute of Health, the National Oceanic and the Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Park Service to have armed officers who can arrest you? No it is not.

Hollywood Elite Gets it (Almost) Right (VIDEO)

Hollywood moonbats are right to be disturbed by recent revelations of the abuse of privacy by the NSA and the spying on American citizens. I support this video and the ideas communicated, but it does not go far enough. It is, however worth a peek. 

How the producers of this slick important piece had the nerve to use video of Richard Nixon (as opposed to Obama) is simply jaw-dropping. 

• Obama has declared in public that the U. S. Constitution is no longer valid.
• Obama up a system of government “Czars” in order to bypass congressional authority.
• Forced churches to accept objectionable practices at their medical institutions. 
• Has increased US government debt at unsustainable rates and wasted stimulus funds. 
• Smuggled thousands illegal firearms to Mexican drug cartels, resulting in murder of 200 Mexican citizens and at least 2 American citizens.  
• Keeps an unpublished enemies list and has used drone strikes to kill three American citizens (one of them 16- years- old) without due process.
• Waged war in Libya without Congressional input or approval. Aided Al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood with weapons and money in order to overthrow governments of multiple sovereign Middle East nations. 
•  Dictates new law via abuse of executive orders (examples with immigration dream act and gun control laws) bypassing congress, and uses executive departments to enforce laws selectively. 
• Deserted the American Ambassador to Libya and other Americans while they were under attack and conducted cover-up of said action, failing to pursue perpetrators. 
• Enlisted IRS to punish political enemies punitively with audits and other abuses. 
• Implemented Obamacare which affixes a financial penalty on Americans who fail to purchase health insurance in order to regulate behavior – regulatory powers not granted in the Constitution.

Kerry Signs Ridiculous U.N. Arms Treaty

For some reason, Secretary of State John Kerry signed an insane United Nations arms treaty aimed at regulating the global arms trade. Yet another meat by-product of the Obama administration's totally schizo foreign policy. 

There is doubt that it will pass the Senate where ratification for all treaties must occur. More than 130 members of Congress signed a letter of opposition a couple of months ago.

Republican Tennessee Senator Bob Corker expressed concern about the treaty violating the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The treaty is quite general with non-specific language that prohibits the transfer of conventional weapons if they could be used in attacks on civilians or civilian buildings such as schools and hospitals.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) expressed concern about the treaty on The Blaze Radio Talk Show with Glenn Beck and joked about Senators having their photos taken with Syrian rebels.

The Hypocrisy of Starbucks - Guns, Gays & Government

"Starbucks represents something beyond a cup of coffee."  - Howard Schultz, Starbucks CEO who began as Director of Marketing.

Howard Schultz at Starbucks is at it again. In an open letter to his "Fellow Americans” on the Starbucks website,  Schultz weighs in on the media-generated attack on guns,  issuing a fiat that guns are no longer permitted in Starbucks stores because guns are “unsettling and upsetting for many of our customers.” Schultz took out full-page newspaper ads announcing his new “policy” in USA TODAY, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.

This is hardly Schultz’s first foray into politics.

Even Bono recognizes Schultz for what he is – a P.T. Barnum without the panache or wisdom. Schultz is  merely a monument to self-absorption and greed, steeped in the cynicism of a polled marketing strategist following a deft formula proving that there is, indeed, a sucker born every minute (who will pay THAT much for average coffee). Bono said of the coffee corporation: "We think of Starbucks not as a coffee company but a media company.”

Schultz and Starbucks waded into the promotion of “same-sex” marriage and not just with public comments. Schultz actually put the money and might of the corporation to wage war against traditional marriage. In 2011, the company sued in federal court in opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and again in 2012, Starbucks joined another legal action against DOMA in Washington State.

At the annual Starbucks shareholder’s meeting Schultz made sure that those who support a traditional Biblical marriage were threatened. Marriage supporters were told that they “can sell [their] shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company.”

Interesting that Schultz picked two issues that are the building blocks of our nation. Gun ownership is a second amendment right afforded in the United States Constitution. Traditional marriage is the foundation on which our entire society is built.

While Schultz attacks our nation, amazingly he escapes scrutiny both personally and professionally. Forget that fact that he is personally worth $2 billion according to Forbes. Forget the fact that Obama has him on speed dial. And that he scurries around in custom tailored suits, hobnobbing with Madonna. He owns a beach mansion in the Hamptons and his own Colorado ski retreat. His latest “celebrated” act of charity - he bought 55 cows for Rwandan farmers.  Yep net worth of $2 billion and all they got was a lousy cow.

Meanwhile his fortune is based on business model of selling average coffee at a ridiculously high price served in a in a paper cup, with meaningless and unpronounceable Italian names. The average price a consumer spends on a cup of something at Starbucks? $4.30.The average number of times a month a person spends this much money on coffee from Starbucks? 18. (This comes to a monthly total of $77.40 per month – on coffee).

Schultz got the idea to dupe the American consumer on a trip to Italy when he observed the fruits of socialism firsthand – group of people with long vacations, shortened work hours (or no jobs at all) with personally subsidized welfare households hanging out in coffee serving “cafes” all day. Interestingly, Starbucks was created at a time when Americans were simultaneously being cautioned about obesity and the dangers of caffeine consumption. A Starbucks “Grande” coffee has 320 milligrams of caffeine -  four times the amount of caffeine in a Red Bull. The Starbucks cinnamon chip scone has more calories than a McDonald's quarter pounder hamburger with 480 calories. To add to the mixed messages of Starbucks (do as I say but please don’t look at what we do too closely), Starbucks statistics of consumers show that adults from 17-40 make up 89% of their sales. What is not disclosed is their secret target market where they can increase their sales and create caffeine addicted consumers for life – the 13-17 year olds.

It gets better. Starbucks is not a franchise company – it is not made of a group of autonomous local owners who employ and give back to their local communities. Nope – it’s a corporate tyrant made up of a labor force that is 65% part-time. Schultz somehow turned this pathetic fact into a positive – by providing insurance benefits to those who work 20 hours per week or more. In response to the news that  Obamacare was causing companies to drop insurance benefits for employees because of the skyrocketing costs of premiums, Schultz capitalized on the PR opportunity vowing in a most dramatic fashion that  Starbucks would keep benefits for its part-timers and that Obamacare is “a good thing for the country.”   That same month Starbucks raised prices a jaw-dropping 1% across the board.

Next time you find yourself jonesing for a cup of hot fresh Starbucks coffee – perhaps just drive by. Maybe find a local vendor – instead of the one  who uses its corporate might to  attack the very foundations on which our country was built. Use your brain – not your emotions – you have been duped, America. Duped by a marketing plan.
