Fantastic to know the Republicans made the historical decision
to cave-in to the absurd and evil shenanigans by Senate Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama... while carbo-loading.
And now pizza can claim to be the food responsible for
ending the US government shutdown and averting a global economic disaster.
Senate leaders announced a bipartisan deal to reopen the US
government and raise the debt ceiling overnight.
The Senate announced the deal to “end the government shutdown” (it actually only postponed the battle to early 2014) after gluttonous quantities
of pizza were delivered for late night negotiations.
Pizza Boli’s who has proudly claim to helping avert
disaster.
Winners: Pizza Boli, Socialist Democrats
Losers: American People, Waistlines of Congressional
Republicans
We couldn’t agree more. Senate Majority Leader Harry
Reid (D-Nev.) closed down his own Senate offices deeming his own staff as "non-essential"
government personnel. His voice mail explains that phone calls and emails. will go unreturned.
Other
Senate offices are to remain open.
Reid posted a sign on the door of his main Capitol Hill office:
“Due to the Government Shutdown Senator Reid's Offices Are Closed.
In the event of an emergency, please contact the Capitol Police on the 1st Floor.
"
WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) released the following statement regarding Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's decision to block consideration of the House-passed Continuing Resolution to avoid a government shutdown.
“Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had the opportunity this afternoon to avert a government shutdown. Instead, he chose to kill the House’s bill to keep government open, a deliberate act to move towards a government shutdown. This is no surprise. After the House acted Saturday night, Sen. Reid refused to call the Senate back to service, instead leaving senators at home on vacation while a shutdown loomed. And he has apparently advised the President not to meet with House and Senate leaders of both parties. Harry Reid wants a shutdown, because, sadly, Democrats are putting politics above the needs of the American people. The New York Times explained why: because, as the Democrats believe “now is the time to break the power of Tea Party Republicans.”
"This is exactly the kind of DC-based thinking that makes Americans disdain Washington, DC. Democrats need to listen to the people and start working for the millions of Americans who are losing their jobs, wages, and healthcare benefits because of Obamacare. This is not a debate over a government shutdown; it’s a debate about how Obamacare is plaguing our economy. I will continue working to make sure the government stays open and Americans receive the same benefits as giant corporations and Congress under Obamacare. Until then, I hope the American people will continue to speak out against this disastrous, train wreck of a law and make DC listen."
The "Axis of Evil" - Planned
Parenthood, the Center for Reproductive Rights and the ACLU of Texas - filed a
federal lawsuit against some provisions of the Texas omnibus abortion law that
state senator Wendy Davis tried to block with her infamous filibuster. Davis (aka “Abortion
Barbie”) achieved national notoriety forcing a special session to pass the bill
(among others) with her pink sneaker antics, costing the Texas taxpayer $1
million for an additional special session on a bill that was guaranteed to pass despite her efforts.
The lawsuit
focuses on restrictions on the so-called medication abortion and the specific regulations in the law, but does
not address the part of the law banning abortion past 20 weeks – they know they
do not have a legal leg to stand on for abortions from 5th to 9th
months of pregnancy.
The clinic
restrictions require abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a hospital
less than 30 miles away. The lawsuit argues that women will be harmed by
this and that it violates “ Plaintiffs’ and their patients’ rights guaranteed
by the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.”
The medication
abortion provision of the law requires following FDA protocol to prescribe the
abortion pill – the plaintiffs argue that there is a lower dose version with
fewer side effects.
Cecile
Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation said this: “I grew up in
Texas and learned pretty early on that women only got what they fought for, I
think folks in the state have never fought harder.”
For some reason, Secretary of State John Kerry
signed an insane United Nations arms treaty aimed at regulating the global arms
trade. Yet another meat by-product of the Obama administration's totally schizo foreign policy.
There is doubt that it
will pass the Senate where ratification for all treaties must occur. More than
130 members of Congress signed a letter of opposition a couple of months ago.
Republican Tennessee Senator Bob Corker expressed
concern about the treaty violating the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
The treaty is quite general with non-specific language that prohibits the
transfer of conventional weapons if they could be used in attacks on civilians
or civilian buildings such as schools and hospitals.
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) expressed concern
about the treaty on The Blaze Radio Talk Show with Glenn Beck and joked about
Senators having their photos taken with Syrian rebels.
Colorado voters have spoken, and “don’t with my guns” is the
message.
The liberal nation is “stunned” by last
night’s heave ho of two heavily -funded Democratic state legislators in a
recall election brought about by a referendum on gun control.
Despite the Democrats misplaced emotional pleas after the
horror of shootings in Aurora, Colorado at the movie theater and the school
shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, Coloradans have had enough.
The liberals waged war in their minds against the “evil” NRA.
The reality was that special interests tried to dominate the recall election –
liberal anti-gun special interest groups like Organizing for America and New
York Mayor Bloomberg’s group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG). The liberal
anti-gun groups out spent the other side a shocking 7 to 1.
Grassroots voters went to the polls in El Paso and Pueblo
Counties and summarily removed Senate President John Morse and state Sen.
Angela Giron from office. Pre-election wrangling included lawsuits filed on
behalf of both candidates – mail-in ballots were not allowed in the election as
a result of their lawsuits. And they still lost.
The ousted Democrats will be replaced by Republicans who
also appeared on the recall ballots. Former Colorado Springs city councilman Republican
Bernie Herpin will replace Sen. Morse and retired deputy Pueblo police chief Republican
George Rivera takes over the Giron’s State Senate seat.
This probably does not bode well for Colorado Governor Mr.
Hickenlooper’s election in 2014. The Governor signed the three gun-control
bills that triggered the recall drive in March.
The OBVIOUS precedent this startling and decisive action sets
is this – second amendment rights are taken very seriously by average folks
in the United States and the gun
rights matter is likely one of the few winning
conservative issues.
Moonbats tried to spin the election:
Rick Ridder, a Denver Democratic Strategist pretended the election results were merely
local issues and have nothing to do with the mood in the rest of the nation: “It is clear to me that there is a group of
activists that wanted to send a message about two people in two parts of the
state, and their support of gun legislation. Do I think it’s reflective of the
state? No. Do I think it’s reflective of the overall mood? No. Do I think
anyone should take anything out of this other than this could be a trend about
using recalls? That’s the only thing I could see as really national.”
Much has been made in Texas about the 20 week abortion limit proposed by legislation that finally passed despite Texas State Senator's Wendy Davis' efforts to hijack the bill.
The offending terrible bill offered the following points of law:
1) An abortion cannot be performed after 20 weeks unless the baby is to be born dead or the woman’s life is endangered. At 20 weeks the baby can move, suck a thumb, yawn, stretch and make faces.
2) All abortions should be performed in ambulatory medical surgical centers.
3) That physicians performing abortions must have hospital access and provided hospital information to the woman receiving the abortion in case something goes wrong after the procedure and that they must have access to her medical records.
Even the "clump of cells" crowd should agree that an abortion post 20 weeks is barbaric and wrong. Babies at 21 weeks are kept alive and grow into healthy children these days.
41 States in the U.S. prohibit abortions after some point already!
This weekend, Carly Fiorina (appearing on ABC’s This Week Sunday) the former Hewlett Packard CEO, pointed out that only four countries in the world allow abortions that la (after 20 weeks) – Canada, China, North Korea, and the United States
You have to laugh. It took Obama YEARS to come up with some form of a birth certificate. Oddly, it was mysteriously found in Valerie Jarret’s office next to a
bottle of white out and a mechanical typewriter.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz has released his birth certificate (YEARS before his attempt to run for higher office – that is awfully
transparent). It shows that Cruz has dual citizenship of Canada and the United States – his mother
is a U.S. Citizen. Cruz was born in Canada where his parents were working at
the time.
The U.S. Constitution allows only a “natural born” American
citizen to serve as president. Most legal scholars who have studied the
question agree that includes an American born overseas to an American parent,
such as Cruz. Dual citizenship is not addressed.
FACTS FROM THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS:
Dated a month after his birth on Dec. 22, 1970, it shows
that Rafael Edward Cruz was born to Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, a “geophysical consultant”
born in Matanzas, Cuba, and the former Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson, born in
Wilmington, Del.
Her status made the baby a U.S. citizen at birth. For that,
U.S. law required at least one parent who was a U.S. citizen who had lived for
at least a decade in the United States.
She registered his birth with the U.S. consulate, Frazier
said, and the future senator received a U.S. passport in 1986 ahead of a high
school trip to England.
Rafael Cruz, now a pastor in suburban Dallas, fled Cuba for
Texas as a teen in 1957. He remained a Cuban citizen until he became a
naturalized American in 2005.
Fetishist custom corset maker/lingerie seamstress finally
found a gimick that will get her mentioned in the news headlines - making voodoo dolls of Texas
Governor Rick Perry complete with tampon pins.
Michelle Sinched claimed that
any profits “after cost” will be donated to Planned Parenthood. The dolls range from $25-$30 and come with a
coat hanger and a "protest" sign for the buyer to write on. Cute. On Instagram this reasonable citizen reports that she is " a cat lady in training." Of course, on her Facebook page she refers to
herself as “the stitch witch.” Under the education heading on Facebook she added “I didn’t bother with higher education.” No surprise that an uneducated, low
information voter would bring voodoo into her mix of liberal feminism,
anti-male hatred and wiccan drivel.
"I was inspired to make them because I wanted to figure
out something I could make that would send a message and raise money for
Planned Parenthood. What's better than sticking pins in Governor Goodhair or burning him at your own doll sized
stake? I would probably best describe myself as pro choice and pro life. No one
ever wants to face the abortion choice but it happens. I believe no one has the
right to make that choice but the woman it affects. I was once a client of PP
and I have felt a great deal of gratitude for them being available when I had
no insurance and could not afford birth control or annual well woman check
ups." - Michelle Sinched as reported by the Houston Press
Not all left wing nutjobs hate Supreme Court Justice Antonin
Scalia. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan told a crowd at the Aspen Ideas
Festival that Justice Scalia took her
hunting as part of a promise she made to
congressman that if she was "lucky enough to be confirmed," she would
ask Scalia to take her hunting.
"He thought it was hilarious, he thought it was a total
crackup," Kagan said about Scalia's reaction. Now she is a regular hunting
partner
"I shoot birds with him two or three times a year
now," Kagan said. "At the end of last year we had been bird shooting
4 or 5 times ... he said to me, 'It's time for big-game hunting.' We actually
went out to Wyoming this past fall to shoot deer and antelope, and we did ... I
shot myself a deer."
The promise was made because most liberals who object to gun
use have never actually fired one nor been near anyone who has actually handled a firearm.
